The August Field
Late August, everything the color of bread. The old windbreak fences make a dark wall across the top of the field, and the wheat below them moves like water. I painted the grain with the same strokes I use for a running tide. This is the largest of the field paintings and the fastest: the clouds were closing and the gold only lasts while the sun does.
