Sloop at Anchor

Medium Watercolor and graphite on wove paper
Paper 300 lb cold-press cotton
Size 14⅞ × 21⅜ in
Painted 2025

The storm had just let go of the harbor when I started this one. The sails were left loose to dry, and every few minutes the clouds pulled apart and threw that pink light around. The water is three pigments allowed to argue with each other on wet paper. I stopped when they reached an agreement.
